Running Focus Groups and Working With Agency Clients

This course discusses the process of conducting focus groups and collaborating with agency clients. After completing this course, you will be able to: 

  • Understand the importance of gathering market research and analysis during the preplanning phase of a focus group project.
  • Identify agency stakeholders and develop effective focus group questionnaires. 
  • Define focus group objectives and goals in the planning phase and create an agenda, slide deck, and other necessary materials for the meeting.
  • Conduct a successful focus group meeting using best practices and effective facilitation skills.
  • Determine next steps after conducting a focus group and analyze the results to make informed decisions.

This course discusses developing your solicitation documents. After completing this course, you will be able to: 

  • Understand the importance of utilizing SPO standard forms and documents for your solicitation document. 
  • Determine project budget to ensure it does not exceed delegated authority.
  • Develop and explain each section of a Scope of Work.
  • Review, modify, and apply special terms and conditions to fit the needs of a specific project.
  • Understand insurance requirements for different categories of services or commodities in procurement contracts.
  • Understand RFx solicitation attachments and when they are used.
  • Determine special solicitation circumstances and additional requirements.

Selecting Insurance Modules

This course discusses selecting insurance modules. After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and importance of insurance requirements in State of Arizona contracts. 
  • Locate Insurance Modules on the Risk Management site.
  • Explain the insurance requirements for professional services contracts, service contracts, environmental services and consulting contracts, IT Contracts, and other contract types.
  • Understand the purpose of Addendum A to the Special Terms and Conditions and how to add insurance requirements. 
  • Know when to seek assistance from State Risk for insurance and indemnification language.

The $10,000 delegation training explains the procurement authority and responsibility granted within a $10,000 delegation. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the role of the State Procurement Office
  • Define a $10,000 Procurement Delegation Authority
  • Outline delegation reporting requirements
  • Identify mandatory contracts in APP
  • Explain available source selection options
