Agency Procurement Authority

The authority to enter into contracts and agreements on behalf of the State of Arizona is primarily derived from A.R.S. § 41-2501, et seq., the "Arizona Procurement Code". In accordance with A.A.C. R2-7-202 pursuant to the Arizona Procurement Code, the State Procurement Office manages the further delegation of Procurement Authority to the agencies.

For most state governmental units (SGUs consisting of agencies, boards, and commissions), the authority to enter into contracts and agreements is conveyed to them through a delegation of Procurement Authority from the State Procurement Administrator. A listing of agencies and their delegated Procurement Authority, along with their respective contacts, is included herein.

Procurement Authority List (Data becomes static once it is opened or viewed. However, it automatically refreshes as changes are made in the back-end. Ensure that this link is always accessed for the most current information).

If a state governmental unit is not listed on the above Procurement Authority List, it may be that they are exempt from the Arizona Procurement Code or are inactive/no longer an SGU. For reference and convenience, visit AZ Direct to locate other SGUs and key contacts.
